Universal posts entire 'This Is 40' screenplay on its 'For Your Consideration' site

This-Is-40

Want a sneak peek at This Is 40, Judd Apatow’s upcoming semi-sequel to Knocked Up? Youcould watch the film’s nearly three-minute-long trailer… or you could just go to Universal’sspecial awards season website, which is currently hosting a PDF of the movie’s full screenplay. The page also has subsections devoted to Dr. Seuss’ The LoraxSnow White and the HuntsmanTed, and Les Miserables. Every one of them includes a screenplay, except forLes Mis.
That makes sense; while the first three films have already been released, Tom Hooper’s musical won’t hit theaters until Christmas Day. But This Is 40 also isn’t getting released until December — making the studio’s decision to post its screenplay seem curious, at the very least. Then again, it’s likely that the film’s actual dialogue varies greatly from what’s on the page; Apatow is known for encouraging his actors to improvise.
In any case: The curious and impatient can find a PDF of the script here. It is, of course, NSFW, although there are no images to go with its descriptions of Viagra-fueled sex and gynecological visits.

Michael Fassbender's 'Assassin's Creed' movie one step closer to production, as Ubisoft partners with New Regency

Michael-Fassbender.jpg

Videogame publisher Ubisoft has been developing a film based on Assassin’s Creed, the critically-acclaimed videogame franchise known for its historically accurate Renaissance politics and for its rotating cast of sad-eyed roof-jumping ninja monks. Over the summer, Ubisoft announced that it was officially partnering with possible superhuman Michael Fassbender to play the lead in the movie — although given that Assassin’s Creed takes place across several time periods, it was entirely possible that Fassbender was playing multiple characters, each with their own unique accent and rippling six-pack. But although Fassbender’s Assassin’s Creed sounded good in theory — especially when you nicknamed itFassassin’s Creed in your head — it seemed unlikely that the movie would ever get made. The last time a videogame company took such an active role in the creation of a game adaptation, it was with Microsoft’s Halo movie, which had a producer (Peter Jackson) and a director (Neill Blomkamp) and a writer (Alex Garland) and a pair of studios (Universal, 20th Century Fox) — indeed, everything a movie could possibly need, except for an actual movie.
But Assassin’s Creed is still in motion. Today, Ubisoft announced an official partnership with New Regency, the production company behind Man on FireLove & Other Drugs, and Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming Noah. New Regency also produced next year’s 12 Years a Slave, which stars FassbenderIn a press release, Ubisoft CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet said, “Bringing aboard New Regency’s renowned production and distribution expertise while maintaining our own creative and financial flexibility ensures that Assassin’s Creed will be a high-quality film that respects the lore and fans of the video game franchise.”
It’s unclear whether the film would be an adaptation of the first Assassin’s Creed — which follows an assassin in the Middle East during the Crusades, a setting that could be a bit controversial — or the more popular Assassin’s Creed II, which is set in 15th Century Italy and features lovable sidekick Leonardo da Vinci.

Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz Talk 'Bourne Legacy': "He Was Responsible for My Life!"

ALT
When news broke that a fourth Bourne movie was in the works, fans and critics alike were understandably wary: Why would the decade-spanning successful franchise, which wrapped itself up so neatly in 2007 with The Bourne Ultimatum, need another installment? What's more, why did the folks behind the curtain decide to go forward without the films' titular character (and big ticket star), Matt Damon? Well, when The Bourne Legacy stars Jeremy RennerRachel Weisz, and Edward Norton gathered with writer/directorTony Gilroy and his brother, writerDan Gilroy, in front of a gaggle of Los Angeles reporters last month, their answer was simple: There was more of the story to tell.

"A lot of smart people tried to figure out how to go forward after Ultimatum," Tony explained. "It was wrapped up so beautifully. How could we go forward? You could say that there was a much larger conspiracy, you could say that [Bourne] was only a small piece of this [conspiracy]. That's a sexy idea. [The producers] said, 'You know what else you could do? You could have Ultimatum play out in the background of the first 12-15 minutes of our movie. There could be a phone call from the other movie to our movie.'"

'True Blood' Clips: Sookie's Got A Gun

true blood sookie jason stackhouse

Things are about to get a lot more complicated, you guys. Or is it?! Crazy things are afoot in Bon Temps, and the new clips for next Sunday's episode prove that by giving us more questions than there are answers. But, you know, that seems to be the way with True Blood these days (or every day). And like the thrall with bloodlust, we still cling so desperately on.

So we have these clips, and from that we have questions. Some we know the answer to, some we don't, and other we choose just not to believe. Like, why is Mike at Sookie's house? Would Sookie really sport that sort of gun? What does Jason want with Jessica? Is that Hoyt in the background? What do they all want? And why does Mike want Sookie's body?! Will he take it? Will anyone ever actually harm Sookie and her magical fairyness? Wait, Jessica's guards! What's happening?! Also, can we request that every single clip/scene/minute features Lafayette, because really? Check out the clips below. and sound off on them in the comments!

The Reboot Glossary: Which Hollywood Buzzword Fits the Bill..?

bourne legacy sidequel

Taking classics and cinematic obscurities and remaking them into modern movies has been a standard from the beginning of Hollywood. (Fun fact: by 1933, there had already been five versions of Alice in Wonderland. Times never change.) But only in recent years has buzzword jargon been so essential to the process. No longer are film studios in the "remake" business. The word comes with baggage — no one, the filmmakers or the film-watchers, wants to feel like they're regurgitating — and so, brand mining and expansion has taken a whole new turn.

By describing new projects in hyperdetail, Hollywood has found a way to sidestep "remake." Thank you, jargon! To help you understand what all these variations of "remake" really mean, Hollywood.com has compiled a rundown of the latest and greatest in franchise-friendly buzzwords:

Reimagining
Thanks to the magic of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (the 14th big screen adaptation for those counting), this became the go-to term for timeless tales making their way back to the big screen. A "reimagined" movie isn't the previous incarnation you know and love — now it has more CG. And curlicue architecture.

Retelling
An off-shoot of "reimagining," "retelling" is a director or producer twisting the approach to their source material a weeeeee bit. Tonally different, but not unfamiliar. After Batman Begins, a retelling of the Batman origin story, every property under the sun was overhauled. Suddenly, everyone wanted "the dark version." Which is why we're eventually getting the gritty version of Little Mermaid.

Reinvention
NBC recently announced that it would be reinventing the 1960s CBS comedy The Munsters. Why is it hard to call it a straight remake? The show will be played as an hour-long drama, constructed from the supernatural elements of the original but with the modern genre spin that's perfectly acceptable on the 2012 small screen. "Reinvention."

Reinterpretation
You can only remake the same story in the exact same way so many times (well, in Hollywood, that's up for debate, but let's pretend for now). So what do you do if you want your own stab at a time-honored narrative? "Reinterpret," of course. Filter a story through an alternative world and you've got yourself a whole other movie. Say you want to tell the story of Easter, but you don't want to live in the shadow of the countless other Biblical blockbusters that have made their way to screen. Simple solution: tell it with barnyard animals. Boom.

Modernization
"Modernization" is what happens when a producer wants to reinterpret a text, but decides it's any time period or setting but right here and now is too boring for movie-going audiences. This isn't your Pappy's Shakespeare/Dickens/Bergerac or whatever literary figure may accidentally remind young people of high school English. These are movies! Why read Dracula when you can see the modernized Dracula 2000? You know it's hip, because it has the year in the title.

Reboot
A favorite of the 2010 and beyond crowd, "reboot" has quickly taken the place as the go-to back-up to the "remake." Studios don't remake their properties that came out 30, 20 or even 10 years ago. They reboot them. The new generation needs their own version of Total Recall and Spider-Man, so Hollywood gives them a swift reboot in the butt with a fresh cast, fresh director and (hopefully) fresh vision. The goal of a reboot isn't to recreate the existing version — even if that's the case 50% of the end products.

Preboot
Fan expectations is Hollywood's biggest hurdle to concocting new and improved versions of well-known properties. On one hand, they can't cater to them — a movie has to play to the widest audience possible. But angry fans are often the loudest, and negative buzz permeates. That's why there's no better creative weapon than a "preboot." Think J.J. Abrams' Star Trek or the recent X-Men: First Class. A preboot acknowledges the established history of a property, a respectful nod to diehards, while paving over it with a new creative direction. Time travel is a preboot's best friend.

Semi-Sequel
"Semi-Sequel' can play two distinct roles: either used to tie a movie unofficially to a famous milestone of the past (think the twisted fantasy Return to OZ and its classic predecessor) or as a label for something that really just needs an identifiable anchor. Judd Apatow's upcoming This Is 40 is billed as a semi-sequel to Knocked Up, not because it requires the groundwork of another film to tell its story, but so there's noticeable connective tissue for people wondering why they should fork over $12 to see it in theaters. Whatever works, funny people.

Spin-Off
Is Elektra a sequel to Daredevil or its own entity? That's what three people (including myself) were asking themselves when the Jennifer Garner-led movie was first announced. Since it lived within the continuity of the established Daredevil universe, Fox considered it a spin-off. Beefing it up with mysticism and a whole lot ninjas make the endeavor suspect. But hey, it really can't be considered a remake!

Salim Kumar lashes at state award jury

Salim Kumar lashes at state award jury
National award winner Salim Kumar is extremely upset with state film award jury for excluding his documentary Pokkali, in the state awards announced last week.
Salim Kumar plans to file a petition against the jury for not including his film Pokkali and mentioned some of the rules needed for a documentary to contest in the state award. He alleged that the jury refused to watch his film Pokkali stating that it did not have a lab certificate.
Salim Kumar further argued that according to the rules, a movie that is to contest in state film award need not have a lab certificate in the first place. Besides, he said that all other required certificates have been submitted.
Salim Kumar also alleged that Blessy's Pranayam is a copy of Hollywood movie Innocence and hence the movie ideally has no right to contest for state film award. As per Salim, the jury was biased and played favouritism. "If such a thing happens to a National award winner like me, then what would be the state of new comers," Salim Kumar questioned.

Diane Kruger To Star in One of the Many Abraham Lincoln Movies

Diane Kruger Abraham Lincoln movie
Did you know they are producing approximately 527 movies about the 16th U.S. president, Abraham Lincoln? They are! It's true! (That's not totally true. There are actually three.) But one of them did totally have vampires (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) in it! Man, what couldn't that good ole honest Abe do? (Answer: tell a lie!)

The next one on deck is The Green Blade Rises, which is slated to be produced by Tree of Life director, Terrence Malick. And Diane Kruger has been cast to play Sarah Lincoln, Abe’s stepmother.

This version of the life of Abe tells the origin story of Lincoln's hardships, tragedy, and the influential ladies that helped shape his character. It only focuses on those formative years, though, and to project that deep, tragic story, the film will be shot in black and white. It was written and will be directed by AJ Edwards.

The other Lincoln film that doesn't have vampires in it, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, will be released November 9, with Daniel Day-Lewis doing his crazy-good actor thing to portray the man with the very tall hats.

Bryan Cranston's Amazing Impression of 'Breaking Bad' Costar Dean Norris

Bryan Cranston

Sure, Colin Farrell might be the dynamic onscreen hero when it comes to Total Recall. But behind the scenes, there exists a man so grand, so mighty, so infinitely unstoppable, that no incarnation of Hauser (no matter how Farrellish or Schwarzeneggery) could successfully fend against him in real life: Bryan Cranston.

The Breaking Bad star revisits the role of villain in the upcoming Total Recall remake, playing the nefarious corporate leader Cohaagen. While he might be ruthless and conniving in the film, we have video evidence that the man's true powers exist in his ability to charm and amuse. Cranston sat down with Hollywood.com, talking about his experiences making the movie... which may or may not have involved ordering prostitutes to Colin Farrell's hotel room.

Cranston does touch upon the funny Total Recall/Breaking Bad connection that involves himself and his AMC costar Dean Norris, who appeared in the 1990 sci-fi flick. How did Norris react to finding out Cranston would be "moving in on his territory?" The actor's below impression should paint quite a hilarious picture.

Check out the video below to hear Cranston discuss these issues, as well as his decision to take on the role, and the roundabout way through which he realized that director Len Wiseman and star Kate Beckinsale were married (it made their workplace behavior a bit less jarring).

Big Brother' Recap: Send in the Clowns

ALT

Julie Chen and her fellow Big Brother overlords at CBS couldn't have picked a better time to make "circus" the theme of last night's POV challenge. Because last night's episode of Big Brother was just that: a full-on, three-ring spectacle of sheer absurdity and terrifying clowns. (I'm certain Boogie the Clown is a thing somewhere, and I'm already having nightmares about it.)

When we left off on Sunday, Shane (pictured here, daydreaming about how many tank tops he can buy with $500,000 so he never has to wear another stupid tee shirt ever again) put Ashley and Joe up on the block for eviction. Or, as they shall be known for the remainder of this circus-themed recap, Tanny the Clown and Loudy the Clown. Tanny was 99 percent certain she wasn't going to be nominated for eviction and Loudy was angry and loud. Like, Mary Murphy turned down her television loud. Boogie the Clown (actually, that nickname could work every week) celebrated the fact that Frank wasn't put up on the block and took all the credit for swaying Shane, who had both Danielle and Britney telling him to vote otherwise. "It's getting too easy," boasted Boogie, who clearly missed that week in school when we all learned about foreshadowing.

But Boogie, as always, underestimated the power of his competitors. Especially Britney who, as it turns out, is more than meets her giant doll eyes considering she saw right through Janelle's unfazed coach act. (Also, if Big Brother was Ocean's 11, Britney would be the Brad Pitt of the house, as she is attractive and always seems to be snacking.) Still, Janelle had to use her pull-out-all-the-stops strategies to not only keep her players motivated, but to find a way to get them off the block. And by pull out all the stops, I mean she unsuccessfully tried to convince Loudy to be a reasonable human being and plead with Shane (a disaster). And then she attempted to save both the sanctity of marriage and her players by temporarily pawning off her wedding ring to Shane and Danielle as a trust offering.

Since the reality television gods seemed to be working in Big Brother's favor last night, when it came time to pull names for the POV competition, of course Loudy pulled the worst possible name to play against him: Frank. "Lord, what have I done?!" he cried. I don't know if there's a God, dear readers, but if there is one, s/he absolutely heard him. Not because he called out to the heavens, but because he is so very, very loud. Shane, Frank, Loudy, and Tanny were soon joined by Danielle and Wig to play in the Jenn-hosted POV competition, which leveled out the playing field perfectly. The aptly-themed circus POV featured the six players dressed like clowns ("Why is Frank the only one in a Bozo wig?" Britney zzzziiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnged) for a challenge in which the main object was to ensure they kept both their balls off the ground. This show writes itself. I love you Big Brother. Never change.

After a compelling explanation from Tanny about what a "gentle push" means, they were off. You know, I make fun of the Big Brother contestants a lot, but this POV game gave me total anxiety and I give credit to all of them for lasting as long as they did. In the middle of two ramps, the housemates had to move back and forth, pushing and catching the balls at just the right speed to keep them from falling. It ultimately came down to Tanny and Shane, but Shane emerged victorious in the POV for the third week in a row. Then it was time for Shane and Britney to celebrate, but much to the dismay of Britney, not for very long. I mean, jeez, can't a girl get a little privacy in a house that is filled wall-to-wall with cameras and is being broadcast to millions of people 24 hours a day? Oh right, no.

With the exception of Loudy (who Britney did a pretty killer impression of), Janelle and her team took a break from allegedly "making up songs, braiding hair, and cooking" to strategize/kiss up to Shane. Meanwhile, out on the porch, Boogie discussed his workout routine. Hey, you can't spell "Oh man, Boogie is the worst" without Boogie! But it didn't take long for Loudy to realize that if he wanted to "follow his dream" of manipulating people on television for money, he was going to have to do more than cook and shout. He was going to have to prove to Shane that he'd have his back no matter what and he did just that when he assured the almighty tank-topped one that he would willingly throw his teammates under the bus to ensure his safety. Sorry, I mean throw his teammates off the cliff in order to pull Shane up. Loudy was big on the cliffhanger analogy last night. "You're saving my life," was a thing he actually said, leading me to believe Loudy isn't totally aware he's on a metaphorical cliff.

Oh, who cares about metaphors — it was time to party! Dan, who was all but absent until this point, showed up just in the nick of time to spice things up and get playfully racist by wearing a hachimaki to welcome Japanese restaurant owner Boogie (wuh?) and the others to the sushi bash he won. Shane ate sushi with a fork and Danielle couldn't pronounce "tempura," y'all. It was delightful. Still, that gathering wasn't nearly as fun or raucous as the party that was going on inside, where Wig was throwing his pants-less sea captain-themed birthday bash. And, as is the case with most pants-less sea captain-themed birthday parties, Spin the Bottle was involved. Ian tried to plant an open-mouth smooch on Tanny, while Danielle and Shane shared their first "good, short, sweet" kiss in front of the whole gang. D'awww.

But it wasn't Ian's failed attempt to eat Tanny's face that was the real kick in the head. Instead, it was his conversation with Britney later that evening. When she tried to get a feel for how he and the rest of the house would be voting next week, Ian clearly missed that week of school when we all learned the phrase "not in the foreseeable future," and instead said, "not in the foreseeable options." In other words, if you ever find yourself in a situation in which you can play poker with Ian, play it. And then when the poker game is over, make him do his kicking-himself-in-the-head trick, because that is ridiculous.

Ian's inadvertent slip-up got Britney and Shane talking. If Shane was really going to be next week's target, would it really be so wise to keep his biggest threat, Frank, in the game? More importantly, would it be so wise to keep Frank in the game and allow Boogie to continue his reign as the worst? Frank, sensing there was danger (a mystical curly haired power he possesses), talked to Shane and tried to convince him that it's Ian who should go up on the block for eviction, not him. Shane had a lot of thinking to do. After all, there's a million dollars and a lot of tank tops on the line. Whatever choice he made was absolutely going to shift the course of the game and send a message.

Despite all his best efforts at the POV meeting to be taken off the block, Loudy's rousing Presidential pardon speech couldn't sway Shane from removing him. But Shane did use his POV — only he used it on Tanny and replaced her with... yep, Frank. The game is officially on. While Boogie thought he'd be sitting pretty poolside again, Frank wasn't nearly as blindsided by Shane's switcheroo. It's fairly obvious Frank has a good sense of how this game is played, although he probably should have campaigned to Shane much earlier than he did. Still, even with Shane pulling one over on Frank, I don't think this ultimately spells Frank's doom. After all, Frank isn't in panic mode and is a pretty charming guy, while Loudy is just so, so loud.

What did you think of last night's completely bonkers episode of Big Brother? Do you think it was fair for Janelle to declare herself the puppetmaster, or does Britney ultimately get that title? Do you think Frank still has a fighting chance? Or did Shane seal his fate during that POV meeting? I'm sorry, you'll have to speak up, I can't hear you

Michael Fassbender’s Prometheus look inspired by David Bowie and Lawrence of Arabia!

Michael Fassbender’s Prometheus look inspired!
Top Hollywood star Michael Fassbender, whose unique look in Ridley Scott's upcoming much anticipated sci-fi saga Prometheus has been widely discussed, says it's been inspired by musician David Bowie and Lawrence of Arabia!
Says Fassbender on his avatar in Prometheus, "Yes. That was Ridley's initial idea for the hair and for the look. He's the robot. Or humanoid. Or android. Or whatever you want to call it. We also took inspiration from David Bowie and some of his looks as well. I liked the idea of having a feminine quality to him for sure. Both Lawrence and David Bowie have elements of that. He's curious about everything. Something blowing up or something killing him, if that happened, there would be curiosity right up until the moment that it happened. He thinks, I'll do this because that will have a knock-on effect and I might learn something else from it, rather than it having anything to do with morality."

Jagathy Sreekumar recognises college friends

Jagathy recognises college friends
Jagathy Sreekumar, who was gravely injured after he met with an accident at nearby Tenhipalam on March 10, was able to recognise his college mates.
It was earlier reported that Jagathy Sreekumar, who is now being treated at CMC Vellore, was unable to recognise people around him. However, recently when his college batchmates Dr Titus Sankaramangalam and actor Ravi Vallathol visited Jagathy at the hospital, he responded positively to them. Urvashi to drag ex-husband Manoj K Jayan to court again

Urvashi to drag Manoj to court again

Urvashi, whose twelve-year-old daughter Kunjatta (Theja Lakshmi) submitted in writing before the family court that she did not want to go with her mother, has decided to file a defamation case against her ex-husband Manoj K Jayan. Manoj had on Friday accused her of coming drunk to the family court when she came to take her daughter out for shopping.
The High Court had earlier ordered that Urvashi and Manoj's daughter Kunjatta must be produced before the court on all Fridays and Saturdays. On these days, Urvashi could spend time with her from 10 am to 4 pm. However, when Urvashi came to pick her, Manoj K Jayan accused Urvashi of being under the influence of alcohol. After a lot of discussion and heated argument, it was decided by the judge that Urvashi could not take her daughter.
Urvashi said recently that she will file a case of defamation against Manoj K Jayan. She also stated that the change in her behaviour was because of the strong medication that she had to consume after her recent surgery. The actress also spent nearly one hour with Kunjatta in a room of family court

Oprah Winfrey explores India in two-part series

Oprah Winfrey explores India in 2-part series
US talk show queen Oprah Winfrey's experiences on her maiden visit to India, connecting with people in the country right from slum-dwellers to the elites, will be shown as a two-part series on Discovery. The two part series will be aired on July 20 and 21. As part of her show Oprah's next Chapter, the 58-year-old TV mogul captured real India when she visited the country in January end.
Upon arrival in Mumbai, she visited the slums and met a family of five members living on a meagre salary. She was moved by the aspirations of the family which lives in a 10-foot-by-10-foot concrete room. Winfrey was also enthused by the close-knit Indian families when she visited an upper-middle-class family, which had four generations living happily under one roof.
Oprah Winfrey had her brush with Bollywood as well, attending a party people by Mumbai's glitterati including Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and others. She also met Aishwarya Rai and the Bachchan family. In the second episode of the series, Winfrey travels to Taj Mahal in Agra.
Her next destination was Jaipur, where she was invited to the Palace walls by the Royal Family. She also visited a shelter run by V Mohini Giri's Guild for Service in Vrindavan, which provides safe haven, job training and dignity to more than 100 displaced women.
However, Oprah Winfrey said, "After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs. I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever - moving around the country and the world talking to people I'm really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too. It is so energising to be out and about in the world exploring new people, new places and new ideas."

Tom Cruise's lawyers threaten National Enquirer for spreading damaging lies

Tom Cruise's lawyers threaten National Enquirer

Tom Cruise's lawyers have threatened the parent company of the National Enquirer with a multimillion-dollar lawsuit for claiming that they have details of the actor's recent split with wife Katie Holmes.
Hollywood Reporter posted a letter from Tom Cruise's Los Angeles attorney, Bert Fields. The three page letter blasts American Media Inc, parent of the Enquirer, and term their claims as "vicious, hurtful, damaging lies." The lawyer added that this will cause damages worth hundreds of millions of dollars!
The Enquirer's issue hit the newsstands on Wednesday. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, whose split is the talk of town are going through a very bad patch. It is being said that both Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had an out of court settlement last weekend in which Holmes was granted primary custody of their six-year-old daughter Suri with generous visitation by Cruise.
The rumour is abuzz that the reason for the split between the two is centered on Cruise's membership in the Church of Scientology. Neither of the couple has confirmed this.

Mel Gibson's step mother Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson to sue him

Mel Gibson's step mother to sue him

78-year-old Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson (Stepmother of Mel Gibson and wife of his father Hutton Gibson) will sue Gibson as she holds him responsible for her break-up with her husband. It was reported by TMZ, a gossip website that Ms Gibson will sue Mel Gibson for $65,000, which will cover the legal bills from both her divorce and a court order that will force him to let her into the marital home.
According to Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson (she married 93-year-old Hutton Gibson in 2001), Mel Gibson along with his sister Maura were against her since she did not approve of a particular controversial medical treatment that they wanted Hutton Gibson to undergo. Teddy accused the siblings of manipulating their ailing father into filing for a divorce and kicking her out of her house in June 2012. According to her, her husband being a devout-Catholic would never have agreed to divorce her.
Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson also claimed that Hutton Gibson recently wrote a love note that said, "Our mutual love is permanent."

Lindsay Lohan asks crew members to strip for love-making scene!

Lindsay Lohan asks crew members to strip!
Lindsay Lohan came up with a very strange request while shooting for a love-making scene in her upcoming film The Canyons. Lohan reportedly insisted that the entire crew strip until their underwear if she had to do an intimate scene.
This sure sounds very unheard of! Linday Lohan, who had previously posed nude for Playboy had to do a scene in The Canyons in which she had to take off her top. The actress was apparently so nervous that she insisted that she will strip only if the cameramen and the other people around her took off their clothes along with her.
After an intiial hesitation, the crew finally gave in and shot the entire scene wearing just an underwear

Rob Pattinson devastated after Kristen Stewart's cheated on him!

Rob devastated after Kristen cheated on him!

Robert Pattinson is reportedly very upset and devastated ever since the news of his longtime girlfriend Kristen Stewart's cheating came up last week. Soon after Stewart's public apology, Rob apparently went 80 miles away to the secluded confines of good friend Reese Witherspoon's 7-acre compound in Ojai, Calif. A US magazine has also reported that Robert has cancelled an upcoming press appearance for his film Cosmopolis.
When Kristen Stewart publicly accepted that she had a short fling with married director Rupert Sanders after US Weekly published pictures of her locking lips with Sanders, Rob was very upset that he had to know this from outsiders and Kristen did not bother to talk to him about the alleged betrayal.
Soon after her pictures with Rupert was out in the media, Kristen said in a statement last Wednesday, "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."
Speaking to a leading US Weekly about Robert Pattinson's reaction. A source said, "He read it online and was livid that Kristen is out there giving a statement and he's the last person to know about it."
Rumours are abuzz that Pattinson is trying to get over the 'hurt' by partying with friends in his hometown of London.
Entertainment Tonight also recently revealed that 26-year-old Robert Pattinson is uncomfortable to face the press after his girlfriend's "momentary indiscretion" and decided to evade the media as of now. However, the actors Public Relations representative dismissed it as rumour and told Gossip Cop, "No confirmed engagements have been cancelled. Any reports to the contrary are inaccurate."
Well, let's hope that Robert Pattinson soon finds the strength to cope with the betrayal!

THE MASTERS TRAILER

After a couple tantalizing-if-oblique teasers of Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master trickled across the Internet over the past few months, the film’s first full trailer gives us a much more complete picture of its story: WWII vet Freddie Sutton (Joaquin Phoenix) struggles to find his way after the war, and ultimately finds himself by the side of Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman) and his wary wife Mary Sue (Amy Adams). A self-described “writer, doctor, nuclear physicist [and] theoretical philosopher,” Dodd is also as the beguiling head of a faith-based organization, into which Freddie gets deeply involved.

That organization has been rumored to be based on Scientology, and Dodd on its founder L. Ron Hubbard, and this trailer certainly features lines that echo common criticisms of the religion. One skeptic says that “good science by definition allows for more than one opinion” before suggesting Dodd’s group is a “cult,” and Dodd’s own son Val (Friday Night Lights‘ Jesse Plemons) tells Freddie of his father, “He’s making all this up as he goes along — you don’t see that?”

Casting Net: Kenneth Branagh to play villain in (and direct) Jack Ryan film. Plus: Lena Headey, Abigail Breslin, Josh Holloway

• Kenneth Branagh is already set to direct the next untitled Jack Ryan spy thriller (starring Chris Pine as the popular character based on Tom Clancy’s bestsellers). And now the Shakespearean actor is also in talks to star opposite Pine as the film’s villain, a Russian bent on destroying the American economy. Given the way these thrillers often end up, the casting will likely put Pine in the unusual position of getting to shoot at his boss. [Variety]
• Lena Headey (HBO’s Game of Thrones) and Jared Harris (AMC’s Mad Men) will costar opposite Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower in the feature adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s novel The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. The series follows Clary Fray (Collins), a 15-year-old girl who learns she is part of the Shadowhunters, a team of warriors consigned to battle against an array of evil creatures. Headey will play Jocelyn Fray, Clary’s mother, and Harris will play Hodge Starkweather, the mentor to a group of young Shadowhunters. [Cassandra Clare/Tumblr]

FIRST LOOK: Marvel unveils top-secret 'Avengers' short film 'Item 47' -- EXCLUSIVE

The existence of Marvel’s latest short film has been stirring speculation for weeks, though no one knew for sure exactly what it was, who stars in it, or what the title means.
What is Item 47? Now, finally, some answers.
The film is the latest in the company’s series of shorts dubbed “One-Shots,” a comic book term for stories that wrap up in one issue. Lizzy Caplan (Party Down, pictured) and Jesse Bradford (Flags of Our Fathers) star as a down-on-their-luck couple who find one of the discarded alien guns from the finale to The Avengers — and proceed to make some incredibly bad decisions.

Marvel’s One-Shots have been used as bonus features on home-video releases for Thor andCaptain America, and this one will be available Sept. 25 on The Avengers Blu-ray, with a special screening planned for San Diego next week during Comic-Con.
This is the longest, most elaborate of the Marvel shorts so far, and could be a first step toward using short-subject films to dive deeper into the Marvel universe and introduce beloved but less-familiar superheroes to the mainstream.
Item 47 refers to the gun itself, which S.H.I.E.L.D. would like very much to retrieve from the hapless young troublemakers. “The world is topsy-turvy now. There’s been an alien invasion, and things are crazy,” explains Marvel Studios co-president Louis D’Esposito, who directed the film himself. “So when this gun literally fell into their lap, this is a sign: We’re going to rob a few banks, we’re going to buy a boat, we’re going to the Caribbean, and all our problems will be solved.”
Two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents (Maximiliano Hernández, returning from Thor and The Avengers, andLost’s Man in Black Titus Welliver, making his Marvel debut) are given the job of cleaning up the mess and stopping this modern Bonnie and Clyde (not coincidentally named Benny and Claire.)
The goal was to show some non-superpowered people reacting to the aftermath of The Avengers. “Anything that expands the world and shows you the more human elements of it, that just makes the world more colorful and fun for the average viewer,” says Eric Pearson, who wrote the screenplay for Item 47, as well as the previous two One-Shots: A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer and The Consultant.
Each starred Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson, but those films were much shorter — no more than 4 minutes, compared to Item 47‘s 12 minute run-time — and they were single scenes with few visual effects or action. Item 47, in contrast, goes on a much bigger ride.
Marvel is exploring whether short films like this could now go even further. The goal is to have a short accompany the home-video for each feature film, and they’re currently devising scripts for companion pieces to Iron Man 3Thor 2, and Captain America 2.
The question is whether the One-Shots can expand to not just tell not just inconsequential side-stories, but also experiment with longtime heroes who may not yet be ready to carry their own features. A short could be a good test for a Black Panther or Iron Fist or Wasp, for example — characters who are beloved by die-hard fans but less known in the broader culture.
D’Esposito says the company “wrestles” with that idea. “There’s always a potential to introduce a character. We have 8,000 of them, and they can’t all be at the same level. So maybe there are some that are not so popular, and we introduce them [with a short] – and they take off. I could see that happening.”
The risk is establishing the potential movie too much, and then trying to retroactively recruit a feature filmmaker with those creative elements already in place. “Let’s say we wanted to introduce Ant-Man [in a short], and that would mean we have to cast him prior to having a filmmaker. That’s difficult and something we wouldn’t want to do,” D’Esposito says.

But in that case, Marvel’s Ant-Man project has had a filmmaker on board for a long time – co-writer and director Edgar Wright (Hot FuzzScott Pilgrim vs. The World). Sources say he recently did shoot test footage for an Ant-Man film.
That’s not quite the same thing as a stand-alone short, but previewing those scenes publicly – say, at Comic-Con next week, or before any of the Marvel features heading to theaters in the next two years – could still be a way to pump up enthusiasm among fans.
Last year at Comic-Con, producer Joe Roth had 6,000 people cheering for a test reel of Snow White and the Huntsman, which featured samples of trippy visual effects and set pieces director Rupert Sanders intended to create – although it featured none of the actual stars. Still, it led to heightened anticipation for the final product, well before a single frame of the movie was shot.
A Marvel superhero short that stands on its own two legs (or more) would undoubtedly have an even greater impact.
Even if Marvel chooses not to show any Ant-Man teases (no one from the studio will confirm what’s in their showcase), they will be at a theater in San Diego next week to show off Item 47in its entirety.
A real-life scavenger hunt starts with The Avengers Second Screen app, which will become available as a free download at the iTunes store this Friday. Those who can’t go to San Diego can still use the app to gain access to a clip, but for Comic-Con attendees, it will offer the first clue to finding the trail through the city that ends with a screening on the evening of July 12.
Be sure to grab some shawarma to go, in case you get hungry. Item 47 may be short, but the hunt may take a while.

First things first- If you expected Billa-2 to be a stylish film, you will not be disappointed. Problem is, apart from a few stale gimmicks borrowed from a bunch of Hollywood films -- nothing really happens in this film at all. It is a miscalculation on the part of both the film's writer and director Chakri Toleti who has to take the blame for it.Packaged snazzily with a charismatic hero like Ajith, glossy-finish camerawork by RD Rajasekhar, exotic locations and fancy costumes, every frame of the film probably cost lakhs to put together, but it still feels like a hollow piece in the end because the story doesn't hold.
The film has no soul, not even a wafer thin story or any smart packaging in terms of commercial elements associated with a big hero film. In short, director Chakri Toleti has made a film without understanding the basic structure of commercial mass films and it lacks local flavour.
The story is a prequel on how David Billa became the biggest underworld don of all times. David Billa (Ajith) a refugee (?) comes to Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu and his journey begins into crime. First he starts as a local diamond smuggler who graduates into drugs and later international arms smuggling. On the way up the crime syndicate, he meets a lot of treacherous opponents whom he eliminates one by one and becomes the dreaded don. But the treatment's so over-the-top, so indulgent that it fails to establish any connect.
In all fairness, the first half of the film is marginally better than the second. If Billa-2 is salvaged to some extent, it's thanks to Ajith’s irresistible screen presence and his spontaneous approach to the character. Sadly you have no words of praise for good looking villains Sudhanshu and Vidyut and girls Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah who can't rise above the flawed script.
Do we really want impressionable young children to see this kind of violence where people are brutally chopped, throat slit and killed at regular intervals? You cringe in the scene when Ajit kills the corrupt policeman (KK) when he is having kinky sex in a brothel!
Don't go in expecting too much, perhaps you won't be too disappointed. Watch Billa-2 for its stylish presentation, it hasn’t got anything else to offer.

Old system against films stars restored

Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has recently issued a circular to all the film artists, insisting them not to take part in any television program. Anil V Thomas, General Secretary of KFCC, has said that TV shows featuring film stars make people sit back home, resulting lower revenue in theatres. Interestingly, this system was earlier implemented way back in 2002, when the TV industry in the state was booming. Meanwhile, various stars across the state have raised their voice against this 'lame' system.

Johansson too sexy for some roles

<i>Avengers</i> character preview: Black Widow
Actress Scarlett Johansson claims she has lost out on various roles because she has been deemed too sexy during the audition process.
The 27-year-old, considered one of the world's most beautiful women, claims her gorgeous face and figure have resulted in her losing out artistically.
"That has happened to me before, yeah. That's always an unfortunate thing to figure out, 'Why can't you see?!' For me, I would imagine when casting someone, you would want to challenge yourself in some way. It is so interesting to see actors transform. There are certainly plenty of times when I am definitely not sexy," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Johansson as saying.

'True Blood' Panel Is a Lot of Stripping and Sex Talk

On Saturday evening fans packed into Ballroom 20 at SDCC to get a taste of the stars of True Blood. The room, which was already stocked with bloodthirsty vamp-lovers from the recently concluded Vampire Diaries panel, exploded when producer Alan Ball took the stage.

We begin with a trailer of things to come in Season 5: Sookie wishing to be human, Russell returning and feasting on the living, Christopher Meloni rocking a blue Polo. You can watch it all below:

But the most exciting part of the panel wasn’t a piece of footage at all — it was series star Joe Mangianello channeling his Magic Mike character and pulling out a few stripper moves for the audience.

Soon after the entire starring cast, including one very pregnant Anna Paquin stepped onto the stage, the topic turned to what moderator Tim Stack called, “The season of the bromance,” citing the relationship of characters Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). That’s when things started to get interesting. At first, the audience was treated to some innocent flirting between stars Moyer and Skarsgard, with Moyer praising his colleague on his cuddling abilities (accrediting them to his long arms). But after this the, um, temperature of the stage took a sharp rise.

Provoked by a question from Stack regarding Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) turn as a stripper, Mangianello stood up and treated the entire room to some very provocative choreography. But Alcide Herveaux wasn’t the only one to get in the Magic Mike spirit: Wesley herself, and True Blood creator Alan Ball, joined in with their own stripper moves. Ball even earned a dollar from satisfied customer Mangianello.

And that’s not all: this prompted series newcomer Meloni to get in the game, throwing out a few body rolls into the mix. All of the R-rated activity reminded the SVU vet of his old gig: “Trying to figure out what’s a sex crime on this show is very different.”

Although the conversation took a few innocent turns — with Ball announcing that Season 5 will reveal unanswered questions about the Stackhouse parents and how their fate affected their children, as well as the future of Rutina’s character and how Pam (Kristein Bauer de Straten) will become something of a hero to her — things quickly veered back to sex.

Ball admitted that there were, in fact, going to be more sex scenes in Season 5. Said Mangianello, “I sexually eviscerate another cast member in one of the episodes coming up,” leading Skarsgard to joke that he is the cast member in question.

And when you’re talking about sex, the mind of the contemporary bibliophile would naturally be led to Fifty Shades of Grey. Skarsgard, as fans likely know, has been rumored to be the lead of choice in the developing Fifty Shades film adaptation. The True Blood star said, “I've got to read that book. I haven't read the book, I haven't seen the script…”

And without missing a beat, costar Moyer added, “He's just lived the life.”

Considering the dark and dirty deeds he’s done on True Blood, Skarsgard isn’t too concerned with handling the comparatively lighter role of Christian Grey: “All I heard was he's got a chamber in his basement,” Skarsgard said. “My sweet daughter and I share a saw room where we have sex with people.”

After all this provocative dancing and talk of sex, the panel closed in the most wholesome and traditional way possible: Ryan Kwanten doing a handstand. That’s True Blood for you

Simpsons’ Back on the Big Screen: ‘Ice Age 4’ Debuts 3D Short16 Share Tweet

The Simpsons are going to the movies! Again. Well, one of them is. Here's a hint: she has shot a multi-billionaire, several Mafiosos and Albert Brooks.

Ice Age: Continental Drift 3D is coming to theaters July 13. Along with it, fans will be treated to the 3D animated short "The Longest Daycare," featuring young Maggie Simpson in what appears to be a prison movie spoof of some kind. This will mark the Springfield family's first foray to the big screen since their feature film in 2007.

The news is somewhat surprising, considering the 2011 chatter about the show potentially coming to an end. Although The Simpsons is locked in for two more seasons, the fate of the long-running Fox comedy is shakier than it has ever been. Could Maggie's partnership with Manny, Sid and Diego represent a resurgence in Simpsonian popularity?
